Welcome you all to the course Academic English 1, which is the course for English at elementary level - A1 level according to CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

The main objective of this course is to help students acquire the vocabulary range and to enhance all language skills required for the fundamental level. This course is designed to further develop the learner's confidence and fluency in using the English language and to enrich their learning experience through interactive lessons and communicative exercises. Learners are able to study, understand and demonstrate knowledge of a vocabulary and grammar range at elementary level covered in lessons. This course also helps learners speak confidently and use acceptable expressions in daily communication, listen and respond (orally and in writing) to each other, recorded texts and video clips, show understanding of the reading texts by responding to questions, and respond to writing exercises in the module appropriately.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

After finishing this course, learners can:

  • Apply verb "tobe", present simple tense and use action verbs in speaking and writing when describing daily routine and everyday objects
  • Apply present simple to talk about the functions of the body parts and discuss favourite type of weather  
  • Describe people's appearance by using present simple and present continuous
  • Talk about objects in the bedroom, kitchen and living room by using pnonouns and posessive pronouns
  • Use adjectives of colours to describe clothes 
  • Use countable noun and uncountable nouns to talk about fruits and drinks
  • Talk about accessories for daily routine and for speacial occasions
  • Talk about different kinds of jobs and discuss an interesting job
  • Talk about favorite subjects at school
  • Talk about different places in town and discuss the things you can see near your home
  • Understand written English in different contexts
  • Understand spoken English in different contexts
  • Talk and discuss different topics in English
  • Write different common topics for daily communication

                                    LEARNING EXPERIENCE :

                                    This course will have 5 modules with 7 lessons, focusing on fundamental English skills: Vocabulary and Grammar, Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

                                    Each lesson will have one or several videos and links to be thoroughly studied, after that, students have to complete a quiz. After each module, students will be asked to do the progress tests and assignments. 

                                    During the study process (6 weeks), the allocation of study is very important. If you have any questions, please connect with the mentors for support.
