Cybersecurity is becoming more and more important nowadays in the Internet era. The easier the network connection is, the more network applications are available which will make users in all areas of individuals, families, and organizations face the risk of information stolen, disclosing personal information... So having knowledge about cybersecurity is essential.

This Cybersecurity course introduces the basic concepts of information and network security. The approach based on introducing 10 security domains will help learners have a clear view of risks as well as the direction to prevent and overcome the risks of cybersecurity issues, from personal to organizational scope.

With the knowledge gained from this course, we believe that you will have a solid, modern knowledge about basic cybersecurity issues encountered in everyday life and work. The solid foundation of the course will make it easy for you to access more advanced cybersecurity issues.

COURSE OBJECTIVE:

  • Understand the general concepts of information security and cybersecurity.
  • Understand the key points in 10 areas of cyber-security.
  • Know how to safely set up your PC when connecting to the internet.
  • Understand the security issues that need to be addressed to the corporate and organizational computer networks when connecting to the network.
  • Understand the rules and regulations needed for individuals and organizations to ensure the privacy and security of personal and organizational information.
  • Understand the concept of the layered OSI model in computer networks.

COURSE STRUCTURE:

 Lesson 1: Introduction to cyber-security.

- Understand the general objectives of the course, the requirements of the exercises and course assessment; Have a general idea about the 10 security domains.

Lesson 2: Introduction to safety and security

- Understand the importance of cyber-security in the modern world; Understand all possible areas related to cyber-security.uy cập

Lesson 3: Access Control

- Know how to list steps in designing an access control system.

Lesson 4: Software development security

- Describe the software development life cycle.

Lesson 5: Ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery

- Understand the difference between disaster recovery and ongoing business; Describe the best way to implement disaster recovery; Know the principles of business impact analysis (BIA).

Lesson 6: Encryption

- Understand the basic principles of cryptography; Understand the application of cryptography in everyday activities such as email, web, e-commerce, social networking.

Lesson 7: Information security management and risk management

- Understanding the role of organizations’ code of conduct; Understand the cyber-security policies; Identify the types of hackers and how to investigate hackers.

Lesson 8: Rules, regulations, investigations, and compliance

- Understand general rules and laws for intellectual property and privacy protection.

Lesson 9: Operations security

- Understand the principle of least privilege; Understand the risk of information loss/disclosure and some precautionary principles.

Lesson 10: Physical security and environmental security

- Understanding natural and unnatural issues related to security; Understand the importance of HAVC, CCTV.

Lesson 11: Designing security architectures

- Understanding hardware, software, operating system security levels.

Lesson 12: Telecommunication security and cyber-security

- Understand the balance between the application of information security techniques and business activities; Understand the operations of the layers in OSI model and related information security techniques.

- He is currently the Deputy Head of the Department of Telecommunications Informatics at the Institute of Information Technology (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) 

- With 10 years of experience in the Council Japanese standard IT technician examination (ITPEC) consists of IP, FE, SW, AP Certificates, he is one of the most contributors for  the joint examination of ITPEC countries 

- Master of Data Communication and Computer Network at University of Technology (VNU-HN) and Bachelor of Mathematics-Statistics at National Economics University.
